The Baby Bump {pregnancy photographer canberra}

I have been blessed with lots of maternity sessions of late and I always enjoy them because it is a lovely change from chasing after toddlers and soothing new babies.  This couple are really looking forward to their baby coming and they wanted this session to be “all about the bump”.  I thoroughly enjoyed this session, such a lovely pair who are going to be awesome parents…

Totally Handsome {baby photographer canberra}

It has been so busy here over the past few weeks.  Bordering on the insane actually, hehe.  I’m really behind in blog previews so stay tuned for lots of new sessions in the coming days.

Let’s start with this little man, he was just so handsome.  And he was just the happiest little guy, content to just go with the flow.  And one of his favourite things to do, well knock building blocks over of course, hehe.  Mum and dad were besotted with him, it was sweet how they adored him.  And how could you not adore such a gorgeous little one.

And mum brought along lots of cute outfits, you all know how I love cute clothing…

And to all of my beautiful kids who were in the competition, you are all so special and gorgeous and I want you to know how much I care
about you all.  In fact I want all of my photography kids to know how much they all mean to me.  My photography “family” has grown so much but I truly love all the kids that I get to hang out with, and have become what I would call ‘friends’ with many of the parents.  This competition has been loads of fun and a great gift to me.  It has shown me how much love and support I have from people and how much love and support they have from their family and friends.

Go and give your kids a big kiss and cuddle from me and I shall talk to you soon…

I just love love love running this blog contest each year.  2009 was even bigger and better than I could possibly have imagined, wow I am lucky to get to do what I love every day.  I met some of the most awesome families and spent time with some of the most amazing children ever.  All of my clients are just fantastic!

Let me first say, WOW, WOW, WOW….. this was just so very difficult.  I started trying to pick my favourites and as with every other year I ended up with waaaaaaaay too many to choose from.  So I used my usual method, I picked a fave image from each session from 2009, popped the names in a hat and asked The Singing Chef to draw out the names.   I couldn’t really go wrong.  I have run this contest for years now and all of the families and their friends have an absolute blast with it, trying to drum up votes left, right and centre.  It’s such a laugh and I truly enjoy it.

Now for the prizes:-

The WINNER will receive:-

A $100.00 gift certificate from Lisa Kelly Photography; and
A $100.00 gift certificate from Borders Bookstore

Just call me Martha… {baby photographer canberra}

I have this friend that I call Martha Stewart because she’s always baking up some scrumptious treat and frankly it makes me feel like a crappy mummy so I tease her to make myself feel better (hi Martha) hehe.  Baking is not something I do often, however I do enjoy it when I do and the kids, well they just think it is some amazing miracle and they kinda love me just a little more when I bake.

Today I found myself desperately wanting to bake, which could only mean one thing…my business is crazy busy.  Everytime I get the urge to bake it is the same old story.  I am snowed under with work and somehow taking a few hours to bake some cakes or something similar just seems like a good idea, hehehe.  I think it helps me refocus my energy and then tackle all of that work with renewed gusto.  Whatever the reason, sometimes I just gotta bake…

Last week I bought the cutest cake tin/tray thingo and so with my enthusiasm for baking high, I jumped into the task of creating something amazing with it.  The only problem with me and baking – I have the most amazing ideas, ideas that would make you gasp with delight but alas, I do not possess the skills, know how or patience to fully create my astounding visions.  I usually get halfway through and lose interest and then rush the end and unfortunately that means I am constantly disappointed with my efforts.  Then I throw my apron back in the cupboard until the next time this baking urge hits.

Today’s baking effort has turned out very cute, but still not as cute as I had envisioned.  But I feel like I did okay for the first time with this idea so I will keep honing it until I do reach the pinnacle of perfection (either that or until I throw the damn thing away, haha).  I think these would look sweet covered in hundreds and thousands with a smartie in the middle, maybe even dipped in chocolate (oooooh yum, now that’s an idea), served with a dollop of cream, oh the ideas are endless.

The kids will love them at least, and really in the end that is truly what baking is all about…smiles on faces!

You could even get fancy and tie ribbons on them, and even pop a clear cellophone bag over them and put them in lunchboxes, I think I may do that for the kids tomorrow.  The possibilities for making these magical truly is endless

The new Signature Album {newborn photographer canberra}

I am so excited to introduce the new Signature Album to my clients.  I have been wanting to give clients a choice of albums for some time but was never able to find anything that I loved as much (or more) than the Session Keepsake Albums I already had.  But finally I found the perfect compliment to the other album.

This new album is called the “Signature Album” and it is the Ultimate keepsake from your session.   The album is covered with a personalised canvas image from your session and I am sure you will agree it looks UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!!!!!!  You can have either a black and white image or a colour image, whichever you prefer.  The inside is all pale cream yumminess with your 5×7 images set behind mats.  I know these images don’t do this album justice, you will just have to come to the studio to see it.  I have only had the studio sample for 2 weeks and the feedback from clients has been overwhelming.  Three clients have ordered the Signature Album already in the past 7 days.  They really are something special…

That is not to say that I am not still in love with the Session Keepsake Album, I totally am.  What is not to love about all of this classy loveliness.  These albums really are the perfect showcase for your images.  And many of my clients now have 3, even 4 of these albums in their homes.  I am always so thrilled to hear from clients how well the albums have held up over the years and how much they still adore them…

Hi, remember me…hehe {canberra baby photographer}

I bet you were all about to lodge a missing persons report.  Am I right?  Hahahaha.  Things are so busy here at the studio.  Sessions galore, a new website nearly finished, a blog contest on the way, AMAZING new products that will make you swoon and let’s not forget my babies getting all settled back into school, dancing, swimming, cricket, etc.etc.etc.etc…wow I am tired just thinking about it all.

The New Website – will be coming within the next week.  I can’t wait to share it with you, it’s beautiful and full of so many new images.  It is no secret that I am a bit slack when it comes to updating my website, in fact the last time I put a new image on my website was May 2009.  Yikes!!!!!  So I really am excited to launch the new website.  And the images, sigh…I am so very lucky to meet so many beautiful little ones.  Keep checking back here for news of when it goes “live”.

The Blog Contest – I am in the middle of getting the blog contest ready to go so keep your eyes open if you had a session in 2009 to see if your little one is a part of the fun.  Every year I have a great time with this contest, as do everyone that is involved.  I am always so excited to see how much effort the families go to for votes, and ultimately we all have a blast.

Well enough chittychat.  It’s back to the grind for me.  Nose stuck to the computer editing images and basically just having a great time meeting so many sweet new clients.  I am currently booking mid April through to May so if you are considering a session or especially if you are expecting a newborn, please contact me asap to make sure you are not disappointed.

Take care and I promise to update the blog soon…

Lisa

They made it so easy {family photography canberra}

These two little sweethearts made my job so easy.  They were happy and easygoing and giggly and content to just go along with whatever photos we wanted to capture.  It is very rare to come across children so cooperative at these ages.  It was just wonderful to spend time with them, and mum and dad were so relaxed and laidback that it’s clear that this is having a great impact on their children.  I seriously could’ve photographed them both all day.

Enjoy the sneak peek of your gorgeous babies, A & S and thank you for spending the morning with me…

1 + 1 = 2 Perfect Babies {newborn photography canberra}

These 4 week old twins could not have been more different.  One boy is big, one is small, one is calm and quiet, the other is already showing lots of personality, one slept soundly for the whole session….and you guessed it, one didn’t, hehe.  But it didn’t matter because they were just so adorable that we captured so many lovely images.  I just adore twins, they are truly extra special.  Mum and dad are doing such a great job, and although they have their hands full, they are loving every minute of it.  Enjoy your preview, your gallery will be ready in a few days…

Aren’t they adorable, so very very tiny and handsome!

Three times a charm {baby photography canberra}

This is the third time I have photographed a sweet new baby for this family, and that’s all in the past 3-4 years.  Let’s just say they are breeders, hehe.  I’m not sure if they know how it keeps happening but that’s okay because the babies are so adorable, I want them to keep ‘em coming, haha.  Grandma is a dear friend of mine so it is always extra special to capture this lovely family.  I know everyone is desperate for a sneak peek so I’ll stop talking and start sharing…here is beautiful new princess A!!!!!
