I’m am ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ excited to share this business spotlight with you all. Tap N Toes Dance Studio is very close to my heart because I have known Miss Kath for many years now and she has been teaching my Olivia to dance throughout that time. I want to preface this business spotlight with my own personal insight into this amazing teacher and her business. Miss Kath teaches the kids with love, and believe me, that can be rare in the dance world. Dance schools are often filled with pressure, nasty competitiveness, backbiting, yelling, you name it. Miss Kath’s approach is vastly different from this and when she began her own dance school Olivia and I couldn’t wait to follow her. She treats each of the children like they are her own, is always laughing with them, encouraging them to be their best, at their own pace, keeping everything moving without finding it necessary to scold the kids. As a dance mum, (shudder, I hate using that term hehe) it is really comforting for me to know that Olivia is being nurtured, encouraged and supported as well as learning to dance. I couldn’t be happier with Tap N Toes Dance Studio so I am so proud to share this business spotlight with you all:-

So tell us a little bit about “Tap N Toes Dance Studio” for those readers not familiar with it yet:-
Tap “N” Toes is a new dance studio in Canberra opening 12 months ago and offers a variety of dance styles to students. We have classes for those just beginning or for the more experienced. We provide students with the opportunity to perform in competitions if they wish with Troupe or Solo tuition available. We offer classes for babies all the way up to older teens.
Our aim is to provide a non competitive approach to the children’s dance education giving them the experience of the love and joy of dance.
What types of classes are available?
We have Tap, Ballet, Jazz and this year are excited to offer Hip hop and Contemporary to the students
What is your favourite thing about your job?
It would have to be watching the students at the end of a term or year and seeing how they have improved and progressed, and how much fun they have in each and every class.
How did you get started?
I have been teaching dance in Canberra for several years and taught in my home town prior to moving here. I had been thinking of starting my own studio, then with the encouragement and support of friends in the industry the timing seemed right and Tap ”N” Toes was formed.
How big is your company in terms of employees?
Last year there was myself and one other teacher however this year I have five other teachers joining the studio.
Where can we find you (phone no., email address, location)?
Classes are held at Calwell High School and Macarthur Scout Hall also you can call 0412724356 or email tntdancestudio@gmail.com with any enquiries.
Any specials you would like the Lisa Kelly Photography blog readers to know about?
I am excited to be able to offer reader’s of Lisa’s blog a complimentary “trial class” so that parents can bring their child/children along to try out a class and see how much they love it.
Do you have a family?
Yes I am married and have 2 sons, 1 daughter and a very cheeky but very cute grandson.
What is your favourite thing about Canberra?
Coming from a small country town, I like that it has that same feel about it.
What’s your favourite ‘indulgence’ that is just for you?
Relaxing in the pool with good music and a nice glass of wine.
So there you have it everyone. With an offer of a free class for your little ones, I think it is a great opportunity to take your babies, kids, teens along to check it all out. And it’s a pretty fun way for the kids to get some exercise and learn something new.
