Business Spotlight – amazing Travel Consultant {canberra family photographer}

It’s time for another business spotlight, although rather than a business this time I am featuring a particular professional, Kirsty Turnbull from Flight Centre Tuggeranong, who I have had the absolute pleasure of dealing with on a few occasions now.

I first met Kirsty last year when as you all know The Kelly’s went to the US for our first trip overseas.  We crammed so much into those 3 1/2 weeks it wasn’t funny.  Kirsty was a very important part of our experience and I am very excited to share her with you all.  We have just recently booked another US trip through Kirsty and her amazing patience with my millions of questions, the ease of getting everything organised, the great prices and her sweet bubbly personality make everything so much easier.   The other thing I loved was with my busy schedule it was really great that we were able to arrange everything via email and phone.  Gotta love that.  I’ve been encouraging my interstate family and friends to use her too, with the wonders of technology these days, dealing with someone out of state is no big deal anymore.  I know I sound like a walking advertisement for Kirsty’s services but honestly great customer service is sooooo rare these days, when I find it, I shout it to the hilltops.

Enjoy…

Hacked {newborn photographer canberra}

What a stressful few days it’s been.

Someone hacked into my website and blog and added crazy stuff to my backend operations.  Google weren’t loving that and they booted me out for 2 days.  Yikes!!!!!

For a non computer geek like myself it has been a bewildering, stressful experience.  Fortunately a dear friend of mine’s husband is a “computer geek legend” and he managed to fix it for me and google have reinstated me LOL.  So I want to publicly thank Scott the legendary amazing computer guy without whom I would be lying in a puddle of tears, champagne and chocolate (hey, part of that sounds ok on second thoughts hehe).

Anyway, back to regular programming so to speak.  And thank goodness for that.  I’ve got lots of beautiful little ones to share on the blog soon, plus a great business spotlight and also the most special party ever.  Stay tuned!

5 going on 15 {family photography canberra}

I recently had this 5 year old girl for photos and she was seriously the funniest 5 year old ever.  She was so grown up, sometimes I wondered if she was 5 or 15 I swear.  Some of her expressions were hilarious and she totally knew what she wanted.  She had her runway walk down and even suggested a few poses to me.  She was hilarious!!!!  Good luck mum and dad once she reaches her teens, she will totally be running the show.

Little brother on the other hand was a quite little soul, just content to watch his big sister do her thing.  He had the most adorable smile which was hard to come by but once you saw it, you knew it was special.

Lovely spending the morning with you guys, enjoy your preview…

I know I know {baby photographer canberra}

I promised to blog more and I haven’t kept up with it, haha.  I have been meeting many beautiful little ones and they have kept me so busy that blogging has fallen to the bottom of the list.  I promise to do better (let’s hope I can keep this promise hehe).  I am just popping in here quickly to share this happy little baby that was at the studio recently.   He had gorgeous eyes and cheeks that made me want to squeeze and squeeze.  I love me some squeezable cheeks.  I’m sure kids hate it when grown ups do this but lucky for me baby T is too little to complain yet, hehe.

Christmas in July {family photographer canberra}

Yes I love Christmas.  No I haven’t lost my mind LOL.  It would seem to some people that it is nowhere near Christmas time.  But to myself and many of my “in the know” past clients, now is exactly the time to talk Christmas hahaha.  My schedule really starts to fill up between now and Christmas and I tend to always kick off this busy season with my new Christmas card designs.  And remember, if you are considering a session before Christmas, now is the time to book.  Next week I will be giving all of my past clients first grab at the available dates for the remainder of the year and then the diary will be opened up to the general population.  Let the chaos begin, gosh I love Christmas and the crazy lead up to it.

Now back to the Christmas cards.  There are so many different styles that will keep everyone smiling and happy for 2010.  And did I mention how gorgeous all of the designs are?  I have no idea how I will choose my own card for my family and friends.  Decisions. Decisions!

So here are the stunning new Christmas card design options for 2010, and you can view all of the designs on my website, www.lisakellyphotography.com, enter the Proofing section and type in the password “christmas” to access the gallery…

Whew…. {newborn photographer canberra}

You could be forgiven for thinking I’d fallen off the face of the earth in the past few weeks, hahaha.  And you would almost be right.  Things have been so hectic here at the studio I haven’t known which way was up or down, whether it’s night or day, etc. etc.  In fact, this past 6 months have been the most busy, crazy, hectic, fully booked time ever.  And of course…I’ve loved every single minute of it!

Add to the last few weeks getting our whole house painted inside and out (don’t get me started on how bad the painter was), interstate visitors, sick children, sick photographer and school holidays and well, it’s amazing that I have any sanity left.

This week has been the quietest week of the year with only a few shoots on so I have been frantically trying to catch up on the millions of bits and pieces that always get pushed aside whilst I am in flat out photographer hell/heaven LOL.

For the people that missed out on blog sneak peeks, I’m so sorry about that but you all have your galleries now so that should well and truly put me back in the good books, hehe.  It just got so busy something had to give and unfortunately updating the blog was shuffled to the side.  I will hopefully be back on top of things by next week and have some new sessions to share along with the beautiful new 2010 Christmas card designs, the availability for sessions for the rest of the year (eeek, it’s already looking crazy) and just some general news.

The exciting news is that our little family has decided that we enjoyed our trip to the US so much last year that we are going back late September again for a quick holiday.  A much more relaxing trip this time though, not the frantic pace of last year which left us blissfully happy but totally exhausted, hehehe.  More news to come on that soon.

Well I just wanted to pop in and say hi and let you know I’m still alive and kicking.  I have been meeting soooo many gorgeous babies and kidlets this year, sigh.  How did I ever get so lucky and with many more on the horizon I just can’t wait to share all the cuties with you all.

And because I can’t do a blog post and not share any images, here is The Kelly’s at the Kingo for lunch just before heading to the Western Bulldogs game at Manuka Oval in May

And here is my beautiful DIVA, on her 12th birthday after just getting her first “big girl hairstyle”.  Doesn’t she look gorgeous and just a little bit pleased with herself too.  It scares me how grown up she looks, wow.

Take care and love and hugs to everyone,

Lisa

And baby makes 4 {canberra newborn photographer}

What a perfect little baby he was.  All snuggled and sleepy and delicious.  He truly was enough to make you wish, just maybe, it wasn’t too late to have another one.  Fortunately for me, I got to have cuddles and that pretty much eased any crazy ideas I had.  Whew says my husband LOL.  Baby K was just perfection, I could’ve bundled him up and kept him no problems.

And his big sister K, well she was a sweetheart.  Such a lovely bubbly personality and absolutely drop dead gorgeous don’t you think.  All of that blond hair and that infectious smile, photographer heaven.

My how he’s grown {newborn photographer canberra}

One of my favourite parts about what I do is seeing families return to me with their new babies, and seeing how much the other kids have grown.  It really is amazing and scary how quickly little ones grow and as much as it is exciting to see that growth, I am constantly reminded about how important it is to capture them in all of their different stages because all too soon they will be grown and those little moments will be gone.

Little C has grown so much, such a tall gorgeous little guy now.  It seems like just yesterday he was here as a newborn.  Look how sweet and little he was…

Toothy Pegs {baby photographer canberra}

When I was growing up that’s what my mum called teeth.  This little sweetheart had the cutest little teeth and she never failed to smile and show them to me, and don’t get me started on her adorable little personality.  Such a wonderful little girl and I doubt whether I’ve seen parents so in love with their baby.  She is sure to be always surrounded by love.  What a lovely session this was and just so many sweet images, it will be impossible for mum and dad to choose!

I love her adorable chubbiness.  Not too much, not too little, just perfect baby chub…pegg_008 copy

PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT {newborn photography canberra}

Everything about this session was perfect.  The perfect baby.  The perfect baby hairdo.  The perfect snuggly-ness.  The perfect beautiful-ness.  The perfect bendy-ness.  The perfect sleepy-ness.  The perfect parents.

Mum and dad were beyond fun and lovely and it was more like a morning chatting with friends rather than “work”, hehe.  But even though I was having fun, I did still remember to capture some amazing images of this precious little girl.

T & A, I had a wonderful morning and can’t wait for you to see the images of beautiful baby E…
